2 Corinthians 12:9 ~ But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Chris’s power may rest upon me.
Practicing the presence of God should be the primary goal of our lives. All things such as: problems, goals, issues, and even hopes are secondary to the fulfillment of His promise manifested in our lives.
Problems become small in the essence of Light.
Contemplating the nature of darkness vs light we can easily see that those things hidden in the dark, which cause our weaknesses to gather the strength and height of mountains, often shrink the moment Light shines upon the root.
Let’s look at some Light Words that when turned on in our lives, chase away the dark mountains that weaken our walk.
His LOVE is so strong that nothing can separate us from Him. ~ Romans 8:38-39
We have victory through Him. ~ Romans 8:37
In His presence we have rest. ~ Exodus 33:14
Those who trust in the Lord are blessed. ~ Jeremiah 17:7
He works out everything for our own good. ~ Romans 8:28
He can sympathize with us in our weaknesses. ~ Hebrews 4:15
Our weakness allows us to boast in Him. ~ Jeremiah 9:23-24
There is often a pit of despair in which we can find ourselves plunging head-long into when we are confused by the truth of who we are in Christ. Yet, the Psalms remind us that God is one who will reach into that pit and lift us out and establish our lives on the solid rock of His truth all the while directing our path firmly.
He drew me up out of a horrible pit ( a pit of tumult and destruction), out of the miry clay, and set my feet on a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my goings. ~ Psalm 40:2
Remember that your weaknesses, those cracks which you find disfiguring or unattractive, the slips in the outer shell of your covering, they are there purposely to radiate His glory to others. These openings that we often see as failure and loss, are the path His light permeates through. The fractures in the structure do not define your worth, but increase it as the shining light-rays of God’s healing love meet the shell of another individual broken by life and thirsty for love.
Your story gives an amplification to His wonder working power in you. When you are humbled low, He is exalted. His power-resurrecting strength is enough to fully protect us on every side. The trail of your journey woven by the visible passage of life stamped on your exterior opens doors no man can shut.
Being aware of my weakness, I am drawn to His strength. Yet the prospect of indulging in pity and murmurs of groaning is tempting. I need to choose to trust Him. I need to speak words of Life and truth and praise. My weakness allows for the strength of Christ’s anointed LOVE to penetrate and heal. The power extended through the blood stained Cross gives me courage to boast of Christ’s sufficiency. The sacred power which is displayed through my weaknesses reveals the mighty majesty of His ‘abledness‘ to meet all of my needs in complete fullness. Then He can go deeper still, operating in the fullness of His glory giving me the chance to minister grace to those who are broken and bruised with heads held low and hearts heavy from the weariness of life. Through His strength, visible in my weakness, I can be a chosen blessing to others.
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned struck down, but not destroyed. ~ 2 Corinthians 4:7-9
Remember that you are not so low that you can not be lifted up, or pressed down so far that you will be crushed completely or destroyed. He will never abandon you; you can trust His promise. He is only waiting for you to call upon His Name. Cry out in your weakness and boast in His perfected strength.
