lean gently on hope

[What would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living. Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the LORD.   – Psalm 27:13-14

The eternal God is your refuge and dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms. – Deuteronomy 33:27

My WORD for 2014 is LEAN.

As I am learning of His goodness daily, sometimes second by second, I am becoming intimately acquainted with the various ways I can employ this process of placing all of my dependence upon Him.

I am learning what it means to LEAN toward hope with expectancy in the waiting.

The very act of leaning my full weight, burdens and all, upon the stability of something stronger than myself requires a measure of trust that I will be held -that it will be possible to rest , to wait, to hope, and to expect that I won’t fall. It is a trust that what is underneath is immovable; it is secure.

I am learning what it means to lean into the everlasting arms of the Eternal Father who is my refuge.

Leaning gently upon expectant hope allows me to draw upon His goodness and experience His peace in the waiting. It is a chance to dwell safely and rest securely.  It is a place where faith is strengthened, not by the contending but by the enduring, and it is a faith which becomes as immovable as the foundation it is leaning against.

Lean gently upon expectant hope as you wait on God.

If you are waiting today, can I encourage you lean gently upon hope and expect to see His goodness in the midst of your living. He is faithful. I am praying today you feel the presence of His strength as you lean gently towards hope. I am waiting with you and believing.

Blessings,
