seeds of prayer 1

For now we are looking in a mirror that gives only a dim (blurred) reflection [of reality as in  riddle or enigma], but then [when perfection comes] we shall see in reality and face to face! Now I know in part (imperfectly), but then I shall know and understand fully and clearly, even in the same manner as I have been fully and clearly known and understood [by God].  – 1 Corinthians 13:12

I have had a burden in my heart that doesn’t seem to be removed, like a tumor that affixes itself securely upon the tender flesh that is continually being pushed upon. Yet, I am not sure that this place of constant reminder is one I should cut away, as it keeps me looking beyond the fragmentary knowledge of my here and now. It moves me to look to the complete and the perfect will of the Incorruptible. This need hints of a fragrance eternally full  of hope, which is  bound to faith and trust, but has only one source for provision.

In the moments where I am alerted of this need, I am driven to the prayer bench of love. Earnestly searching, deeply seeking the grace that is found at the Cross.

I can’t put a word on the need, or a face with the heartbeat, but I can recognize the cry of the Holy beckoning me near. It is the place where seeds of faith are sown, where trust encodes the shape of the flower,  and hope seals the plan of beauty in while love fills up the waiting season with the shell of grace. The answer has been already planned and the flower that results will smell of heaven’s bounty.

Wherever you find your heart today, would you stop with me a moment and bend both heart and knee towards the Holy in reverent awe?  Would you seek His provision, with me as we go to meet the need of the hurting, the oppressed, the afflicted, the lost, the wounded, and the weary.

Prayer is the power that reroutes the evil that threatens the living. Its strength lies in the assurance that when all else seems to falter the One who never slumbers nor sleeps is still in control.

Though my heart may sway with the emotion and the circumstance before me, I remember that  LOVE. NEVER. FAILS.

Seeking Christ on behalf of those of you who need to be reminded of hope and grace..

Father,

As we come near to the throne of grace, may we find mercy and hope already waiting. Though our hearts tremble, yours is on a continual course of love. You are always good. Your love never fails. Thank you that in our moments of weakness we can leave it all at the cross, picking up your burdens in exchange for our own. Not one of your promises have failed. Thank you that in times of terror, fear and destruction, we can call upon you. We can trust in the promises of your angels to guide, guard, lead and protect.  Thank you we don’t have to understand, but we can just come boldly to your throne seeking mercy moment by moment. Let faith wash over us, strength bind and weave our hearts to truth, trust fill our hands with the sword of the spirit, and hope encourage and give us wings to soar over the trouble straight through to triumph. Let the love of God be shed abroad in our hearts by faith and girded our souls with the armor of God that we would be able to stand in the day of evil and see that we are known perfectly by You.

In Jesus Name.

Amen

Sending love and prayers to those who are needing a dose of hope and faith today.
