Sundays are days we need to soak in His Word, let it resonate in our souls and settle deep into a Sabbath rest of the heart. May the reminder of His promises be a balm to you as we seek Him first in each of our journeys.Join me each Sunday for a reminder to take a soul stop in the power of His Word and be rejuvenated for the week ahead.

lift up hands to praise God

As we ponder the characteristics of a Holy and Sovereign God, we are moved into a position of praise and reverence.  The Psalms remind us of the simple beauty of unadulterated joy-filled praise which is unhindered and pure. This heartfelt seeking, the passionate pursuit of the Holy One, is life-changing. The more we pursue His holiness, thirst for His righteousness, long to see His glory; the more we  will ultimately find ourselves in a position of praise and adoration before the Lord. We can’t hold it back. Our  lips will release a song of joy and our hands will embrace the power of the offering as a gift longing to be released.

God is worthy to be praised.

He is Holy.

His loving-kindness is better than life.

He is our helper.

He is the one who upholds us.

His loving-kindness brings my lips to praise and my hands lifted high, raised in honor. Every day is an opportunity to bring a blessing of gratitude to the One whose glory fills the sanctuary of heaven.  Isaiah spoke of the filling of the heavenlies by His magnificence which ignited a symphony of praise in anthems of holy worship. (Is. 6)  And we have the privilege to join in the chorus… because the power of praise brings us into the position of reverence and reception as we are lifted up by His righteous right hand.

-Psalm 63-

O  God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs for you in a dry and a weary land where no water is.

To see Your power and your glory, so as I have seen You in the sanctuary.

Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.

So will I bless You while I live: I will lift up my hands in Your name.

My whole being shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness;  and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.

When I remember you upon my bed and meditate on You in the night watches.

For You have been my help, and in the shadow of Your wings will I rejoice.

My soul follows hard after You and clings closely to You; Your right hand upholds me.

But those that seek my soul, to destroy it,  shall go into the lower parts of the earth.

They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for the foxes.

But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that swears by Him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

Praying for your day to be filled with opportunities to praise His loving-kindness and rejoice in the strong support of His hand holding you safely and secure.
