This is for those days when your faith needs to be real.
The hard days when your faith will be put on-the-line, whether as a position of defense, when you are expected to give that answer for what you say you believe, or offense as you go to battle for someone else.
It could be for the moment when there is a need bigger than you think your faith may meet.
It is for those days when you have to trust in the power of the truth you are called to share.
It could be the moment when you ask…Why?
Or it is for that day that the breath-whisper of hope is thrown your way begging for affirmation.
In every situation, in every example there is one verse that stands out to me found in the book of 1 John 4:4.
Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
There are times when we are faced with decisions that take our breath away and loom large in our vision, and what do you do then?
Pray those Faith Prayers!
The prayer of faith, effective and fervent in its utterance ,has power that reaches past heaven’s gates directly to the throne. We, as children of the most High, engrafted into the vine through the branch of pure love, can walk boldly forward expecting favor and mercy, well-timed help and grace for our every need.
We have been given keys to bind and loose, to intercede, and to minister grace in abundance. The foundation of grace that He has empowered within the heart of the believer can withstand any and all attempts to destroy the foundation. We are overcomers In Christ, so why do we shake and shudder when the trials come? Why do we falter to assure the hopeless there is reason to hope?
Because we lack faith.
Faith is not ours to measure, we just need to believe it is attainable.
We are each given a measure of faith, when our hearts are made new through the cleansing redemption His sacrifice and our submission to Him brings. (Romans 12:3) Faith is the very substance of all we hope for and the evidence of all that we have yet to see. ( Hebrews 11:1) It gives us the fuel to cast down those principalities, powers, and positions of authority that threaten to remove the peace He has come to provide.(2 Corinthians 10:3-5)
I realize in those moments when faith must be bigger than my knowing, that truly I am bound to the power of prayer. I am thankful for this connection with the Holy, where in obedience we come and in reverence we trust and hope . We believe that He hears, sees, understands, and moves on our behalf.
When prayer is not dependent upon our faith but upon his authority we come then in passionate love one for another.
Our prayer is not dependent upon our eloquence, but reflects the passion of our heart and the pleas that present the needs before the Father. It is our place to bow and present the burdens of the heart in humble admission that we have nothing within our grasp to meet the need. It is our acknowledgment of inadequacy and awareness of His complete perfection.
He loves to hear us pray for one another.
I believe He longs to hear us pray for one another in earnestness, to move past the prayers for our needs and begin to open our eyes to see our purpose is to bring down Heavenly Manna to the starving, the hungry, and the thirsty in our midst.
Oh that there might be one who would plead for a man with God and that he would maintain his right with Him, as a son of man pleads with or for his neighbor! – Job 16:21
{What is it that sets us apart?}Honest heartfelt believing prayer sets us apart and gives us the ability to walk and talk strong.
Walking that walk and talking that talk… being faith filled-prayer warriors with the heart to answer the hard questions. Insistent to be exactly what we speak to others beyond going beyond words to actions of faith, be real… be transparent… be honest… breathe life.
My heart is beating like a drum whose rhythm rides on the surging tempest when I think of the open door we are given when we are asked to pray. We bring others right to the throne room of heaven. Do you realize that privilege? It is astounding.
Yet we are not alone. We have an intercessor, a great high priest, who goes before us pleading and preparing the way.
So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groaning too deep for utterance.
And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God’s will.
And we come to this hope that leads us to know that He has not left us… He is working it out. He is diligent to meet our needs, long before we even know we have them. ( Romans 8:26-27)
We are assured and know that [with God being our partner] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose. (Romans 8:28)
All because….
He loved us from the beginning and destined us to be molded into His image. And if God is for us, who can truly be against us? ( Romans 8:29,31)
{When your faith is called to account, what do you do?}
- Can I encourage you today to bow down in prayer, lifting open hands empty of your own ability and seeking the fullness of God?
- Can I encourage you to stand strong in the assurance that the God you serve has got it under control and is able to do exceedingly abundantly above and beyond all we ever ask, seek or desire?
- Can I challenge you to make Him the delight of your heart, so that you will walk worthy of Him, fully pleasing unto all good works?
- Can I implore that today, you move mountains simply by bowing your heart and your head before the King?
- Can I ask you to pray with me for hope to be found, lives to be changed, hearts to know peace, minds to touch heaven, and feet and hands to be Christ in this world?
Today will you stand shoulder to shoulder with me and pray like Daniel to see His loving-kindness displayed and the light of heaven shining bright.
Now therefore, Our god, hear the prayer of your servant, and the supplications brought to you. Shine your face upon us, for the sake of Christ. Incline your ear and hear us; open your ears and see what is before those who call upon Your Holy Name, seeking from you mercy, righteousness and loving-kindness. Lord hear our petitions, heed our requests in mercy, and act on our behalf without delay. (Daniel 1:17-19)
I’d love to pray for you today, to lift you before Lord in faith and hope. Please feel free to share a request in the comment section or by email at dawnboyer@journeysingrace.com
