I  have missed this little writing exercise, well, its not so little really. The connections are huge, the number of fingers plinking the tabs of their keyboards is exponential , the REACH  is abundant. That is the word for this week’s FIVE MINUTE FRIDAY blog challenge… REACH. Write for five minutes straight, on one word, together in community, and link up at Kate’s home. I have missed the fun this summer, but today is my birthday, so I am going to join the celebration!

Ready, set, GO!

reach of love

Immediately when I think of the word reach, my heart and my memory go to the 59th chapter of Isaiah verse 1. Of course, when  you read it you won’t find the word reach, but I always put it in there when I remind people that His arm is not shortened, or weakened, that it has challenged his ability to reach you when you are fallen or lost.   I love the image that the word reach implies, it is active and it is imperative. It signals a willful action of seeking and holding onto something that we deem valuable or necessary.

That is what God is doing with us when we are crying out to him in all our circumstances.  He is reaching out and he is redeeming, saving and coming in like the flood of grace that He is to minister to our hearts.

At what point, today, do you need to be reached out to friend? Do you need to be told you are beautiful and lovely? Do you need to be reminded that you are not forgotten and His ears are still hearing your cry or even your whisper? Do you need to be assured that you are valued and appreciated.

Let my words REACH out to you and fill in those open places.

You are beautiful

You are lovely

You are valued and appreciated.

You are heard.

In His mighty grace He fills our days with the hands and the hearts that reach out and fill in the lonely and broken with the healing salve that heaven employs for restoration.  Reaching deep within the reservoir of hope He prompts and ministers to each of us through His Spirit and His servants. It is that standard that reminds us of His banner of love waving wildly over us as we trudge and march the winding road ahead.

I am encouraged today at the expansive reach of His hand as it meets my need and lifts me up to bless others with truth and hope.  His REACH is unending as it moves through each of us touching beyond our vision can see.

Behold, The Lord’s hand is not shortened at all, that it cannot save, nor His ear dull with deafness, that it cannot hear.  When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.  And the Redeemer shall come… this is the covenant, says the Lord,   My spirit that is upon you [and Who writes the law of God inwardly on the heart], and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouths of your children,  or out of the mouths of your children’s children, says the Lord, from henceforth and forever. -Isaiah 59:1,19-20, 21

Linking up with Kate at Heading Home, today, for the Five Minute Friday Community Writing Project. Head on over to see what she is sharing about two other sweet blogging ladies and a project that is touching and reaching into the depths of needs and necessity on the other side of the world. Crystal and Lisa Jo are meeting needs with the breadth of their REACH.
